Unkown English Hallmarks

Postby bryenm » Wed Aug 27, 2014 7:44 pm

Hello
I have a sterling silver ladle with 3 hallmarks.
Passant Lion in circle
F in circle
Mans Silhouette in circle

Image

I believe the F may be a Duty Mark but cannot find the mans head stamp?
Any thoughts???

Good Morning,

They appear to be either American or Canadian per-1860 coin silver pseudo marks. Have a look here, American Makers Marks, or Silver Flatware Fashions to see if you can identify them.

Good luck
Warren

Warren
Thank you for your answer. The metal content tests as .925 which it could be very close too. I believe your deduction to be correct.

Sincerely
Bryen MacIntyre
