Dutch miniature maker JV

Postby EmmaW » Wed Jun 11, 2014 10:25 am

Hi everyone

I'd appreciate some help with the identification of the Dutch miniature maker with the mark JV over a hammer. I've found a few other pieces online by the same maker but nothing linking a name to the the mark. The same mark appears on all five pieces in the first image.

Thank you in advance

I do'nt know if Oel on vacation, otherwise I wish him a happy holiday.

J. V. (hammer)
J. Verhoogt
Hoorn
1894 - 1936

Let's see if I can get him out of his hibernation :)
to correct me :) :)

Best Regards

J. Verhoogt a well known miniature maker. A Google image search of; J. Verhoogt zilversmid Hoorn will show some of his work.

Best,

Oel.

Professor Oel,

Is that the sword mark above the makers mark the one issued from 1814-1905 that guaranteed a minimum fineness of .833 or 833-1000?

Warren

Dendriet my friend do be careful, the professor takes off points for spelling. Ask me I know.

Joker Warren,

Hard to tell, it could be the sword mark used 1906-1953. Please take your pick:
