Grimwade's Addenda (p.737) comments
that "Benjamin Bird was probably dead before 7 November 1721 when Rebekah Bird (qv) , now established as his widow entered her mark"
It would appear that this is another Benjamin Bird, perhaps a son, who was also a bucklemaker . Maybe a lost register silversmith. Or a red herring !
Perhaps we should call the father "the early Bird" !

Thanks Clive. I incorrectly chose not to take the notation in Grimwade seriously enough about the widow Rebekah. I have since seen the amendment to Robert Dennison's indenture contract concerning his turn over which is on the front and undated but appears to match the script that precedes it . It does make sense that the 1742 marriage at the "White Swan" relates to a son, but I have nothing as yet to back it up.
