Victorian Silver teapot

Postby notts6501 » Thu May 29, 2014 10:49 am

I have a Victorian Silver Teapot. Hopefully picture attached with various marks on the bottom.
The engraving on it is dated October 1984.

Can anyone tell me what the marks are, purity of silver.. It weights 670g

many thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

Welcome to the Forum.

I hope I don't disappoint you too much, but your teapot is not silver.

See here to understand EPBM: http://www.925-1000.com/silverglossary2.html

And for the maker, see James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield at: http://www.925-1000.com/silverplate_D2.html
