Tiffany Olympian Pattern

Hi,

Can anyone advise on the production dates for Tiffany's Olympian pattern?

We have the start date as 1878 (see: http://www.925-1000.com/patterns_Tiffany.html ), but does anyone know for how long this pattern was produced?











Any thoughts appreciated.

Hello Trev -
William P. Hood, Jr. author of Tiffany Silver Flatware 1845-1905: When Dining Was an Art, pp. 210-217, gives the following timeline for the Olympian pattern:
o Introduced at the Exposition Universelle, Paris, 1878.
o Patent applied for in 1878 and issued in 1879.
o Permanently discontinued in 1942.
o Orders again accepted in 1949.
o Back to active status in 1956.
o Still active (as of Hood's publication date 2003).
