WMF Pattern

Postby Vale » Mon Mar 31, 2014 10:11 am

I have been surfing about this pattern I believe it is WMF although i haven't found exactly the mark I read. Items belong to a flatware set (6x) brand new, everything still boxed but the box itself is pretty damaged. I estimate a date between 1930-1950 because they belonged to my grandma. Any help ?

By the way, there is a 20 below WFM logo I have no idea what it means. Well i have one, 80% silver ? Thanks again.

Hi,

To understand the meaning of the '20' mark, see here: http://www.925-1000.com/a_platenumbers.html

Hello, this is one of only two patterns by WMF plated with the standard plating process (thin plating, no extra strengthening), not the patented WMF plating process. This accounts for a mark usually not found on flatware pieces by WMF. Dating is late 1920ies to late 1930ies. Best wishes, Bahner

Do you know the Modell Number or name of the pattern? I run across a piece every once-in-awhile, but no one seems to know what it's called.

My curiosity is getting the better or me.

Bahner,

Can you please share the identity of the second WMF pattern that used the "standard" plating method? If you don't know the name or Modell, a brief description of its appearance will suffice.

Diana
