Help with Star of David mark in flatware

Postby Vale » Thu Mar 20, 2014 12:36 pm

Hi, this is my first post in this great forum. Good job.

The first items i want to bring is a set of flatware (spoon, fork and knife) marked with the Star of David (inside I see the letter "G"), and other two marks: 800 and something else I can't tell.

I suppose they are silver, maybe some gold around. Suggestions?

I believe they are manufactured between 1880 and 1950 because they belonged to my grandma, and she also left us some silver wares i have identified from that period.

I apologizes for my english, I do it better in spanish so .. I will say it again :) Thanks.

Hi Vale,

Welcome to the Forum.

Your set is made of 800/1000 standard silver. The maker was Jakob Grimminger of Schwäbisch Gmünd, Württemberg, Germany.

The firm had a long history, 1895 until 1991.
