Postby R ingo » Sun Feb 02, 2014 4:40 pm

Hello,
can someone help me with this marks?
The only "Derriey" I know is Julien Derriey from Genf / Geneva in Switzerland.

Kind regards,

Hi Ringo,
I think it is Geneva. If there is a 3 on top of the head, it is 800/1000 silver. Look Tardy 5th edition english language (2005 reprint) p. 394.

Derriey is listed as Geneva first half of the 19th c. but my book doesn't give any further identification.

Google books search says his first name is Julien or Jules depending on who you want to believe.

Dear all

"Weltliches Silber 2", the inventory of the Swiss National Museum in Zürich, is usally a reliable source.
It attributes the mark to Julien Derriey, (1812-1865). The fork should be dated around 1850 or a bit later.

Jörg
