Huguenot maker? 1741 spoon

Postby mk209 » Sun Jan 19, 2014 7:49 pm

I can't find this mark listed anywhere, it's quite distinctive in shape and you can just make out a fleur-de-lys and a letter that looks like a 'C' but with a double line through the centre. The spoon is made in London in 1741.

If anyone can help it'd be great,

Hi Matt,

I see no obvious candidate for the maker, perhaps this is one that that was recorded in the missing registers.

Can you try to capture a sharp close up of the maker's mark alone? Try taking the image in daylight, no flash or reflected light, and use the macro feature on your camera.

Here's the best I can do, I need to invest in a macro lens!
