Sifter Crest Identification ....

Postby Somerset » Tue Jan 14, 2014 9:48 am

I have a George III sterling sifter spoon ( London 1827) by Thomas Dicks,... it has a family crest/coat of arms on the handle features a Lion Rampant holding an arrow, standing on a castle/tower/rampart... ( see photo).

Does anybody know who this might represent.?

It appears to be...out of a mural coronet a demi-lion rampant holding in the dexter paw an arrow. This seems to be the crest to the coat of arms for some of the branches of the WYATT family. (There may perhaps be others who use it.) Kind regards.
