Help Identifying (German?) Ring

Postby skuhnphoto » Wed Nov 20, 2013 10:38 am

Hi Everyone- looking for a little help identifying a ring. I've spent hours online trying to find markings like this and haven't had any luck but I'm sure it's easy for someone who has some experience.

The ring was my grandfather's. He lived in Germany until his death in 1960, so I'd assume the ring is German and mid-20th century, though it could've come from another country. The region of Germany he lived in was close to the French border.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

I'm only speculating, but the mark, to me, looks like a swan. So possibly the ringmaker is Wilhelm Schwahn of Hanau:

Hopefully one of our German members can confirm/deny.

Trev.
