Austrian Teapot with odd mark placement

Hello all. I recently picked up this teapot and I'm not sure about its authenticity. It is clearly hand made, clearly hand-wrought, repousse work, with hand chasing. The mark placement seems odd to me. Also the unhinged lid seems a little off. The piece is definitely solid silver and fairly well made. Please take a look at the pictures. Thanks for your help.

Your teapot was made in the Austrian Empire in 1814-1867. "A" = Vienna. "13" - silver fineness 13 lot (= 0.8125). Year is unreadable, but the last digit is "9". "CR" is maker's mark.

I understood the marks that are the teapot, Vienna, 1839. CR in shield. My question is whether folks that the item was authentic or not. I would think the item would have been marked on the underside versus the side. That the lid would be hinged, not removable. Not sure why it would be counterfeit or fake since I don't think the item has much value whether authentic or not. It was originally purchased just for the silver value.

Hello, have seen several authentic Austrian pieces of silver tableware (cups, bowls) not marked on the bottom but near the rim. With small mocha pots the lid sometimes has no hinge but is loose like here. So I think this is authentic all the way. Regards, Bahner

Thanks. I have read about, but not seen the markings of Carl Raab being closer to the rim or along the neck of pieces and not being marked on the bottom. Not sure if his mark is CR in a shield or not.
