Silverplate mark s & b edin

Postby Hymerso » Sun Oct 13, 2013 11:34 am

Trying to find any information on this piece of silverplate (assuming that is what EP means). I tried all the lists I could find, but could not find this mark anywhere - help! I believe the piece is a bun warmer or biscuit warmer?

Yes, EP is electroplate. The initials are actually S&H and may stand for Sutherland & Horne, an Edinburgh company.

Thanks so much!! Researched them a bit, and found a pic of the same mark, so you were right. So much easier once I knew it was an "H" not a "B" - thanks, from British Columbia Canada :) and do you think my mom is right, that it is a bun warmer?

Depending on the size, I would say it's likely to be a teapot stand.

Should have put a ruler in the picture- sorry about that! It is 12 1/2" across, total diameter. And yes, teapot stand might make more sense.
