LIGER, John (Grimwade p.583)

Postby MCB » Mon Sep 09, 2013 4:31 am

He was christened the son of Isaac (Grimwade p.582-53) and Mary Liger at St Martin in the Fields in 1711.
He entered a mark at Goldsmiths’ Hall in 1730 as a large worker in Hemings Row which had been his father’s address until his death in that year.
As a resident of St Martin in the Fields parish in 1733 he signed a bond to marry. Despite swearing that there was no lawful impediment to his marriage by reason of consanguinity etc he kept his options open by failing to name the bride on the document and no marriage record for him has so far been discovered.
He applied for freedom by patrimony in the Broiderers Company in 1735, the last information found for him.
