JACQUES, Robert (Grimwade p.316)

Postby MCB » Tue Aug 27, 2013 4:19 am

He was christened in 1702 in Westminster, the son of Robert and Elizabeth Jacques.
Apprenticed in 1717 to his father of the Clockmakers Company he was made free in 1726.
He entered a mark in the same year at Goldsmiths’ Hall from Elliott’s Court, Little Old Bailey probably as a case maker.
He married Christian Cole at St Bartholomew the Great in 1728; they were both from St Sepulchre, Holborn parish. Their son, also Robert, was christened at St Bartholomew's church in 1729.
A burial of a man of the same name, late of the Workhouse, was registered at the same church in 1739 without detail of his age at death.
