He paid Duty for the apprentice indentures of David Eymars of Westminster in 1718, Bennett Bradshaw (Grimwade p.447) of Leicestershire in 1721, Samuel Collins of Somerset in 1732, William Hulme of Cheshire in 1735, Peter Archambo II (Grimwade p.425) of London in 1738 and Abraham Portal (Grimwade p.629-30, 764) of Essex in 1740.
He was assessed to Land Tax from 1744-47 on behalf of 10 tenants of properties in Houndsditch and in 1748 on behalf of 11 tenants. Wikipedia records he also owned 48 properties in the Soho area.
He was an officer in the Westminster Volunteers. His father, a minor French nobleman who died a pauper in 1735, had been an officer in the army of William III of Orange.
The Will of Paul De Lamerie, goldsmith late of London, was proved for probate on 8th August 1751 (National Archives reference PROB 11/789/326).
He is buried at St Anne’s church, Soho.
There is now a memorial plaque at the site of his workshop at 40 Gerrard Street.
