I know the maker and pattern of this spoon (Baden-Baden by WMF), but it has an odd symbol engraved on the front of it that I don't recognize. I hope someone can help identify it. I bought the spoon recently on eBay from a seller in the U.S. The pattern was active from 1961 into the 1980s.

Not sure if it still remains true on modern flatware, but in Britain the owners crest or initials were usually facing towards the user, but on the continent the fashion was to have them facing away.
If so, perhaps we should be looking at the logo orientated this way:
Well, duhh... It does look more "balanced" the other way. I suppose it could be a big letter "L" in the middle, for the surname, and two smaller initials on each side, for the given names. I had thought it might be the symbol of some organization, but I think you may be right, that it's actually stylized initials. Thanks for taking another view!
