Tea Pot from Dunklings Melbourne

I have a tea pot which belonged to my late mother. It is marked 'Dunklings Melbourne' then four hallmarks, then 'Made in England' and finally 'B753' with a 4 below. The hallmarks are not easy for me to read but might be: E V B M. I'm quite sure of the B and M. Can anyone point me in the right direction to establish what the hallmarks and other marks mean? I can post a photo but I'm new to this forum and I don't see an option to do this.

Thanks Oel. I think I'm getting the hang of this now. I'm pretty sure that this pot is quite ordinary but mum had a bit of an attachment to it. Hence my interest. The hinge seems to have been repaired at some time although it doesn't show in these pics and the knob on the lid appears to have been replaced with a dreadful cheap thing from, perhaps, a small saucepan or cheap tea pot. However, my interest is less in the value and more in the history of this item. How old is it, what do the hallmarks and other marks mean etc. I hope these pics are ok. I reduced them to the max 1000 pixels.

Unfortunately it is very unlikely that we will be able to give you detailed information about age and origin of the tea pot. The letters are EPBM which is a generic abbreviation for ElectroPlated Britannia Metal and cannot therefore be pinned down to a specific manufacturer. It probably dates to the late 19th / early 20th century when this shape was popular.

Thanks Phil. I didn't think it was particularly special in it's own right. Are you able to comment on the lid knob? It's surely not original.

I agree that it looks like a saucepan lid knob.

I have a very similar EPBM tea service, also a family heirloom, but which has unfortunately suffered badly from plate loss. However I think that the teapot lid knob is original. It appears to be made of polished bone:
