Postby MCB » Tue Jul 09, 2013 4:52 am

Thomas Harris of Milton, Kent signed to be his apprentice in 1713.
He was assessed to Land Tax from 1715-19 on unidentified property in St Andrew Hubbard precinct, noted generally as Billingsgate in the assessment books. He had entered a mark at Goldsmiths’ Hall in 1713 from St Mary’s Hill near Billingsgate. Next door but one his brother Samuel Colvill (Grimade p.469) was similarly assessed. There were new tenants in both properties in 1720.
Thomas Colvill was assessed to Land Tax on unidentified property in St Mary Vintry or St Mary at Hill parishes from 1720-32. Again both properties are generally noted to be in Billingsgate. A new tenant was assessed in 1733.
The burial of a Thomas Colvill was registered at St Mary at Hill in 1733 without noting his age or last address.
