Irish Crest 1729

Postby Argentum » Wed May 22, 2013 12:28 pm

I have some unsolved mysteries and would appreciate any suggestions.

The following crest appears on a sugar caster for 1729 andis found on other items with Cork associations or of Cork manufacture:

This cat-a-mountain (or mountain cat) sejant, collared and chained is a crest used by many Irish families named Burke, or sometimes Burgh or de Burgo. Kind regards.
