Hi Amena,
I'm informed by a friend that the pattern was originally introduced by Bruckmann in 1886.
S. Wetzlar was operating in Bamberg since at least 1903.
As far as M.T. Wetzlar is concerned, they were founded in 1875 by Moses Tobias Wetzlar (b.1847, d.1916). At least two of his sons, Markus and Heinrich entered the trade, and it was Markus who took over the business following the death of his father, and it was he who was granted the title 'Königlich Bayerischer Hoflieferant' (Bavarian court supplier), but they were not manufacturers, but suppliers only.
When Markus Wetzlar died in 1925, his younger brethren Heinrich (born 1891) and Alexander (born 1893) took over and were responsible until the sale on 21st October 1938. On 21st April 1939 they arrived in London. Alexander died in London on the 16th May 1957, aged 63 years. Heinrich moved at the age of 65 years back to Munich, to become sales manager for Nymphenburger porcelain. He died aged 81years.
