It is not made of silver, but is silver plated.

The P and following numbers are probably product numbers etc, The P is nothing to do with date letters hallmarks.

Thank you So the P would just mean Plated , I was going by the sterling dating system.

Is there any where to guesstimate a date on item ?

Would the numbers be sequential to dating ?

If you were to Google JAMES DEAKIN AND SON SHEFFIELD INKWELL EPERGNE , There is another one with the R 3580 , Also Mine does not have the Lamp stamp .

Thank you Very much

The P has nothing to do with dating at all, it is just part of a product / inventory code with the numbers also part of that.

I would guess at 1880's for your piece, but that is only a guess, I am not an expert.
