MOREL, Lewis (Grimwade p.600)

Children of Lewis and Dorothy Morel were christened at St Ann, Blackfriars in 1730 and 1732 without an address being noted.
Four of their children were christened at St Bride’s, Fleet Street between 1734 and 1742 when their address was variously Dorset Court and Salisbury Court near Fleet Street.
He was assessed to Land Tax on property in Fishers Court near Fleet Street from 1749-53.
No later information has been found for him.

The Will of Lewis Morel, goldsmith late of St Mary, Islington, was proved for probate on 11th November 1761 (National Archives reference PROB 11/870/222).

7 December 1748 Lewis the son of Lewis Morel late of Charing Cross in the County of Middlesex dyer deceased free by redemption in the company of goldsmiths paying forty-six shillings and eight pence. Under new business is the comment: to be a broker.
