KING, Abstainando (Grimwade p.571)

Postby MCB » Tue Mar 19, 2013 6:39 am

Abstainando, the son of Peter and Ann King of Long Alley, was christened in 1764 at St Leonard, Shoreditch.
Duty was paid in 1795 as a silversmith from St James, Clerkenwell for the apprentice indentures of Joseph Story (possibly Grimwade p.672).
The christenings of Mary in 1793, James in 1795, John in 1800 and Elizabeth in 1801, children of Abstainando and Margaret King, were recorded at St James, Clerkenwell.
On the testimony of John Denziloe (Grimwade p.490) Abstainando King was admitted by patrimony to the Curriers Company in 1803, his late father Peter having been a freeman in that Company.
He paid Duty in 1803 as a freeman of the Curriers Company for the apprentice indentures of James P Davis (possibly Grimwade p.485).
His burial in 1833 aged 70 years, late of Red Lion Street, was recorded at St John, Clerkenwell.

this is a longshot, but does anyone know anything about George Bennett who married Mary King, Abstinando King's daughter. He was also a metalworker and his son john Bennett married Jane elizabeth Goldsmith d/o Joseph Thomas Goldamith of Spitalfields, London. Abstinando is my 5th great grand-father and I am trying to find out more about him and his family.
regards,
Sarah

Welcome to the forum. Sorry but thus far I have found nothing about Abstainando King's son in law George Bennett. However, here's one new thing for the forum about Abstainando:

29 April 1787 Abstainando King of the Parish of Saint Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney, Tower Hamlets Batchelor married Margaret Bath of the same Parish Spinster at Saint Dunstan and All Saints Church.
