Identifying marks

Postby petehulse » Thu Nov 08, 2012 8:38 am

Hi

Am new to this and have done a bit of research but can't match the marks I have on some napkin rings with the information available.. so need help!

The napkin rings are marked with a maker's mark of C&N which I have looked up and found as Crisford and Norris of Birmingham. The other marks are an anchor and lion, relating to Birmingham and the letter K. However the 'K' appears to be a capital letter and the company was only registered in 1898, the only 'k' after then is lower case.

Am I reading the 'k' wrong or could they have marked an earlier piece? Have got an image I can send if you think that'll help.

Thanks

Pete

Hi Trev

Thanks for the advice and the ticking off for not reading the notes - this is the first time I've ever joined a forum!!

The item can be viewed at:

and the marks at

Images were too big for the forum!!

Hope someone can help.

Hi Pete,

I read your date letter as 1934.

Crisford & Norris Ltd. (Harold Crisford and William Norris) were established in 1903. They were acquired by Ward Brothers (Birmingham) Ltd. in 1959.
