What's it called and what is it for?

Postby Myron » Mon Nov 05, 2012 7:08 pm

Hi there
l'm hoping someone here can help out with this mystery item. What on earth is it? Who made it? Is it fake? Real?
l've spent hours searching online and turned up nothing (hindered by the fact that l don't know what to call it - a stand? a base? Part of something)

Standing at 6.5cms high, the base is 9cms across the middle and the top flat bit is 4.5cms across.
It is marked with AG925, in front of that is a circle - in the circle is R with a . in front of it.
Nothing on the base other than a circle of blue felt.

It weighs 235grams - weighted on kitchen scales, thats all l have.
If l put my tongue on it, it dosen't taste like a battery (just dust) and a magnet won't stick to it. There ends my knowledge which l picked up after hours of searching online.

l truely hope l haven't broken any rules re posting or photos, l did read through the list before l signed up.
Thank you.

It could be Italian.
In that case R stay for "Riempito" (filled)
Should also bear the manufacturer's mark in a lozenge somewhere.
