Coil Ring w 2 stones marked dP & C78

Postby makerseeker » Thu Jun 09, 2005 1:39 pm

This looks to be a Mexican sterling ring with maybe ruby stones? It looks to be marked ( dP ) and C78 .Any idea's on the maker or age of this ring ?

The mark in the semi circle actually appears to me to be JR, looking at it fome the other direction.

dP mark

I flipped it looking at it the other way, reverse of what you see the mark and still looks like a dP either way. maybe how they signed it was a d and another d or 2 p's .doesn't really have to be initials.Could be how the person made their mark. Also looking at it upright to read the C78 to the right ,the mark has to be read as you see it or the c78 would be upsidedown. Hard to tell if that was supposed to be an R,not a strong impressed mark.

I see JR inside the circle too. It's upside down. If that is upside down maybe the silver content mark is also and it's 875 instead of c78?? SOrry I don't know maker's marks well enough to help id for you.

Definately not rubies. Probably carnelian.
