Hello,
I think the fork is from 1812 and to my knowledge only the goldsmith Johann Baptist Brücker /Brucker (Master 1804, died after 1811) comes into consideration
Another Goldmith who worked still in the early 19th century and could have had a "IBB" mark was Johann Baptist Bernlocher. But he died before 1811.

Ringo

Thanks Ringo. It's a spoon not a fork and why do you think it's from 1812?
If your supposed date is not right, the initials of Brücker or Bernlocher would match well.
The style is beginning 19th century. Theo shows the mark (for 1809) without the name of the silversmith.

Hallo silverfan,
sorry that I wrote fork instead spoon.
I see no reason to doubt the date. Probably you know the Augsburg date letter list in Rosenberg ("X" was used 1775-1777, 1812 and about 1837).

Based on my experience, that the marks on Augsburg spoons wich were made at the time of the third date letter alphabet were often placed on the handle, I think the spoon is not from 1837. Furthermore the style of the makers mark looks more older than 1837. But may be I am wrong.

regards, Ringo
