Tortoise shell mirror worn hall mark

I'd love some help identifying this hallmark, all I can make out is a final "D".
The item is a round hand mirror with a tortoiseshell or similar back to it.
It is Assay Office London and may have a date letter "L" for 1926, though wouldn't swear to it...

I cleaned it up and it is an 'r' after all - so 1932 it seems.
Any ideas on the maker?
