Trev., you are spot on. This piece shows the influence of Scandinavian design on German design of the 1950ies. If one turns the mark 90 degrees to the right one can see it the way it should be seen: a stylized unicorn, that of Gebrueder Kuehn from Schwaebisch Gmuend, Germany. The object is the creamer from the mocha set designed by Karl Dittert for Kuehn at the end of the 1950ies. It was part of a modern production line called "Linie m", made in silver or silverplate. Believe the re-designed unicorn was used on objects from this line only. Best wishes, Bahner
