I believe it to be silver plate but am not certain. I see what may be some narrow breaks in the heavy plate along the stem edges, very dark inside, which I associate with nickle silver tarnish (however, I don't usually collect silverplate, so am guessing here). I cannot find this mark here or in Rainwater or on another web site that covers silverplate. Does anyone recognize this as an early mark of the famous silverplate company, or else another origin? If so, might you indicate where this mark is documented? TIA, and sorry for the poor mark photo (scan), it reads simply "ROGERS BROTHERS", though somewhat mis-struck so that the leading "R" is nearly completely missing.
