Gerla Silver teaspoon

Postby chorne2k » Thu Aug 16, 2012 12:16 pm

I'm looking for information on these teaspoons I recently stumbled across. I am having difficulty in locating any info on "Gerla Silver". Are these silver or plate? Any idea on who or when these were manufactured? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hello,

These spoons will be silver plated. It was the popular choice as from the later part of the 19th century of English silver platers to name their products with colourful titles such as Bengal Silver, Potsoi Silver, Brazilian Silver, Sydney Silver, etc., etc. as a marketing technique.
