Art Deco teapot, Stower & Wragg Ltd, Sheffield. Thought I have heard of everything but not this; teapot handle made of camel bone! Is there such a thing?
I've never seen camel bone used as a teapot handle before, but I see no reason why it should not be made of such a material. Apparently it is a popular choice for the manufacture of handles for hunting knifes etc., it being very dense, strong, and capable of being dyed.
Thanks a lot; I was aware bones are used for all sorts of carving, etc. but have not seen it in teapots, though. JLDoggett: can you see a small chip top left? The sample is taken to the lab for DNA testing :-)
