Paris ``art nouveau`` vesta case, maker ``CM``?

``Art nouveau`` vesta case.
``Small items mark`` for Paris. 0.800, used after 1838, struck twice as expected.
The maker ``CM``, one ``en losange``.
Maker`s mark ``en losange`` was legislated in 1797.
Why two different maker’s marks - obviously the same maker?
If it were an older item, one could suspect silversmith still used his old punch alongside with ``en losange``. But this is ``art nouveau``.
In short; could ``CM`` be identified, and why two maker’s marks?

Just crossed my mind;is it Charles Murat? He worked at the turn of 19th century and was strongly influenced by art nouveau.
But then another question; have seen C. Murat silver with ``departements`` crab mark.Where did he work?

The mark belongs indeed to Charles Murat.

Very attractive vesta case. Just to add to what others have said. Murat was a prominent maker who exhibited at many international exhibitions. He did work in the Art Nouveau style.
Here are my thoughts about 2 marks with CM — the one in the lozenge is definitely a maker’s mark. The other could be a retailer’s mark or trademark (poinçon de détaillant; marque de commerce), and does not necessarily have to be the same CM as the maker. For example Jean Granvigne and Pierre Queillé both made and marked flatware for Odiot, who retailed the flatware. Odiot marked the flatware with their trademark of a lamp in addition to the maker’s marks.

Thank you so much; I was actually confused with two different marks, both with ``CT``.
It is very reasonable to have retailers in mind, they often struck their own marks — sometimes even more prominent than maker’s mark. Fortunately, the legislation in France is excellent and lozenge marks help a lot.
What about the fact silver by C. Murat was assayed in ``departements``, too?
Have seen his mark with ``crab``. On the other hand, it was an important business at the time and most probably his silverware was assayed outside Paris, as well.

I suppose C.Murat did not change his mark en losange in spite of changed workshop name in 1897.
