Jens Peter Clausen Guðjónsson was born on the 21st July 1920, he was the son of HansÃna Magnúsdóttir (b.1-4-1895,d.3-8-1971) and Guðjón Jónsson (b.29-9-1876,d.11-10-1937). He married on New Years Eve 1953 to Ingibjörgu Ólafsdóttur. Jens died in Reykjavik on the 9th March 2010, aged 89 years of age.
Jens trained as a goldsmith under his uncle, Guðlaugi Magnússyni, and then studied gold and silversmithing at the University of Denmark for two years (1957-1959) to gain experience. He returned to Reykjavik and started his business in 1966, and soon became very popular with his innovative designs. He was still working at the age of 84 years.
His daughter, Hansa, is also a goldsmith.
