He was christened the son of Thomas and Ann in 1793 at St James, Clerkenwell.
He entered his first maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1816 as a case maker from 47 Clerkenwell Close and from the same address in 1818 as a watch case maker.
He married Sophia Bendy at St Ann, Blackfriars in 1817; both were from that parish.
In 1819 he notified he had moved to 23 Coppice Row, Clerkenwell
The christenings of their three children are recorded on the same day in 1821 at St James, Clerkenwell.
Horace was shown as a watch case maker from Coppice Row from where he entered another maker’s mark in 1822.
His wife Sophia’s burial was recorded at St James, Clerkenwell in 1829; her last address was Coppice Row.
The death of a Horace Gooch was recorded without further detail in the Marylebone Registry in 1837.
