I'm somewhat confused regarding the several firms bearing the Hartford name. Rainwater lists several, including the Hartford Sterling Co., the Hartford Silver Plate Co., and the Hartford Plate Co., but this 1893 advertisement is the first time I have come across the Hartford Silver Co. Is it linked to one of the other firms? Or was it just a very short-lived outfit?
