Old topics again

Postby amena » Thu May 10, 2012 10:52 am

I'm looking at old topics to learn.
Sometimes I can not see the pictures and do not know if this is a problem due to a flaw in my computer or not.
For example, viewing the topic

I do not see any pictures or even a link to a picture. However, he received a full reply.
Can anyone help me?

Hi Amena,

No, there is nothing wrong with your computer. All of the images that are posted in the topics on the forum appear though the facility of photohosts, such as tinypic, photobucket, imagehost, etc. Sometimes the images just drop out for reasons unknown, sometimes the photohost goes under, and sometimes, when the poster has got the information that they were seeking, they remove their images. The last reason is the most frustrating, as we do ask in the posting requirements to please leave the images in place for as long as possible for the benefit of others. I noticed that you today supplied information to an unanswered question from 2010, and this shows how worthwhile it is to let the images stay in place.

It would be great if we could store all the images posted on the forum on our own servers, but as there are thousands of images posted every year, I'm afraid it's just not possible.

Hope that the above answers your question.

Regards Trev.

Hi Trev
Thanks for the answer
Is a pity that so much information being lost. I hope that one day there will be a site where the images remain always visible. I believe that I and many others would be willing to pay a small fee to fund such a site.
Regards
Amena
