That's a silverplate mark of Elkington of Birmingham.

I have an elkington mark. It shows the E & Co with crown above. Then the Elkington symbol like aa anchor or stylised E. however the date letter is shown in a diamond as a circle with either one or I inside this. Can anyone suggest a date. I think it is about 1849
