SPOON WITH HALLMARKS - HELP

I HAVE AN OLD SPOON THAT I CANNOT IDENTIFY THE HALLMARKS AND WOULD LIKE SOME HELP. G Bottle Shape P NM Sideways Tower 60, see photo. Any help would be appreciated.

Silverplate marks for; Hans Hohle, Oslo, Norway. 1897-1935
NM= Norsk Monster are sometimes seen on flatware, this abbreviation is an indication of design patent or copyright.

Believe the manufacturer was Th. Marthinsen of Tonsberg; G.P. (Gullsmed Plett) is an indicator of electroplate.

But Cheryl is right a tower is not a teapot and also not a goblet

Hi everyone.

That is Th. Marthinsen's silverplate mark.



Norges Gullsmedforbund fastsatte ( Norwegian Goldsmith Association) established rules
for electroplating and issued this GP quality mark in 1931 or 1932.

Hi Peter.

Th. Marthinsen used the goblet mark on solid silver items.
The tower mark was just used on silverplate.
