The annual meeting of the stockholders of the Bristol Brass Co. was held at the office of the company in East Bristol on February 27th. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year. President, A. F. Rockwell; vice-president, Pierce Welch, of New Haven; secretary and treasurer, Julian R. Holley. The annual report for the year ending January 1, 1914, which included the American Silver Co., which is practically a part of the brass company, was read as follows. The total assets are $1,463.363.22, liabilities $166,683.17 and profit for the year $159,155.66. Dividends amounting to $51,307.25 were declared and the balance was placed to the surplus account. The accounts of the American Silver Co., showed total assets of $519,040.58 and liabilities of $215,086.44 with profit for the year 1913 of $24,319.20.

Harry Arens, western salesman for American Silver Co., left last week for his old home in the east. Mr. Arens will spend some time fishing in Maine.

Alexander Harper, of Bristol, Conn., was recently elected president of the American Silver Company. He started as a bank clerk, but left to go with the American Silver Company. He worked in the factory for a year, on the selling force, had charge of the Chicago Branch, and as Assistant General Manager until his last promotion, when he was made president and treasurer.

E. B. Smith, of the American Silver Co., manufacturer of silver plated ware, etc., of Bristol, Conn., left this week on a business trip through the Southern States, and plans to be gone for some time. The products of the company are in great demand in the South, and indications point to a large revival of business.

Obed Calkins, for many years a valued employe of the American Silver Co., Bristol, Conn., died recently at his residence in the Copper Mine district after an illness from complications which had extended over a year and a half. Mr. Calkins was born in Avon, Conn., 59 years ago and came to Bristol 30 years ago. He is survived by a widow. The funeral was held from his late home, burial being in the West cemetery.

Miss Minnie Johnson, for many years with the American Silver Co.'s Chicago office, resigned her position and left Oct. 15 for an extended trip to California.

The American Silver Co. has had a prosperous year and is now completing a new brick factory building. The company now pays dividends at the rate of eight per cent per annum.

It is announced at Bristol, Conn, that hereafter the Bristol Brass Company and the American Silver Company will operate under separate managements. Julian R. Holley will be secretary and treasurer of the Bristol Brass Company only, while Samuel B. Harper will be secretary and assistant treasurer of American Silver Company. President Albert F. Rockwell, of the New Departure Manufacturing Company, has been elected president of both companies, while Pierce N. Welch has been made vice-president of the brass company and Dean Welch been made vice-president of the silver company.

Charles C. Morgan, superintendent of the American Silver Co., Bristol, was attacked on Monday afternoon, of last week, by Frank Nasseen, a discharged workman, who, it is said, had been taken back by Mr. Morgan on three different occasions. While the superintendent was escorting Nasseen to the front door, Nasseen struck him in the face, breaking his eyeglasses. Mr. Morgan was taken in a carriage to his home, where he will be confined for several days. The assailant escaped.
