Chafing dish hallmarks? Silver on copper- 4 marks

Greetings. I've spent hours trying with no luck to find info on this hallmark. Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

My parents owned many pieces with this mark. They lived in the NYC metro area all their lives- from the 1930's onward. Much of it in Brooklyn. Might this offer a hint? I'm at a loss that nobody has any leads yet. TIA.

I have had this post and silver mark in mind for some time now. I identified it a few years ago but need to go through a large inventory to find the maker's name. I do remember that the key to this mystery is the small "L" above the lion. I will search my inventory and post my finding here.

Still looking! I'm so surprised... as I learn more I realize that there are thousands of hallmarks, but I did feel somebody would know.
