Mark Identification Early American Coin Silver?

Looks like Berlin (Germany) to me but I can't help with maker.

it is interesting to see the GD- mark with the Berlin hallmark




in W.Scheffler Goldschmiede Mittel- und Nordostdeutschland
the GD-mark is under Arnswalde, maker G.Dettmann
but this is not sure

Great sleuthing. It is GD. I can just see the G under a loop in just the right light. What is the zig zag line for?

Hello, GD might be an unidentified Berlin maker. Scheffler is weak on marks and there are several Berlin makers (e.g. G.G. Dümmler) whose initials fit but whose marks are not known. Best wishes, Bahner

did you know, why Scheffler toke this makersmark to G.Dettmann in Arnswalde?
Was Dettmann also a maker in Berlin?

Would you say it is 1850's or so? The bowl is narrow, 4.2 cm at it's widest point, with a flat edge measuring 2mm if that helps at all.

Hello, Scheffler does not list a Dettmann in Berlin. The spoon can be dated ca. 1854-1860. Best wishes, Bahner
