Age of this Gebrüder Deyhle 925 Sterling sugerbowl?

As I am not 100% sure it is pure silver but I´ve been told so, there fore am I posting in "silver plated". It is a sugerbowl made by Gebruder Deyhle that I know know 100%. I couldn´t get a good photo of the stamps whit my camera but I borrowed (sorry a photo of a stamp from this forum that was excatly the same) and it was Gebruder Deyhle I was told.
I am trying after very much research to find out the date of this item, value isn´t prio one.

I do think it is pure 925 silver but as I said 99% so that´s why I am posting here.

Nope just these marks "three crown= importstamp for Sweden as I guess" 925 silver and the Lion standing.
I have been looking at that page first before going to this forum but it fifn´t make me any wiser.

I have cleaned the bowl and no I see the same stamps on the lid. The thing that makes me wonder is "why" there are no other marks.

That is just the problem my camera isn´t good enough that is why I copied the photo from this forum of a stamp as they are identical.

The crown are swedish the stamp is German (so I´ve been told) but the strange thing is that there are "only" the crowns the lion and 925. No other mark.
Hopefuly I will be abel to get a friend hwo has a good camera to take new pictures fore me.

The three crowns are in a oval shaped form wich certifies that it is imported before 1988 atleast. That I know.

Yes we are still out here.
Indeed your three crowns does indicate Sweden, the National control Mark in an oval and the S to indicate silver (should be in a hexagonal frame shape). I guess we are looking at Swedish import marks. Let us wait on the Nordic contributors to shed more light on the marks.

Hello, Deyhle used a mark like that on pieces made for export, most likely from the 1950ies onwards. Best wishes, Bahner

That could be right as Granny was born 1919 and 50-60 ties could be the right year. This is so interesting to know. Can one get more exact ore is this as near as I can get?
And is it silver silver and not plated silver?

The Swedish import mark three crowns in an oval frame was used 1913-1987. The Swedish mark S in a hexagonal frame indicates without any doubts that it is in Sweden tested silver. The word STERLING tells us that the fineness is 925/1000, the same as the figures 925 do. The maker/producer is mentioned earlier. In other words a German made object imported to Sweden between 1913 and 1987. Respectfully Mrs O, it is good silver. (Jodå, det är fint tyskt silver tjollan! :-))

Tjollan, no one else mentioned it, but the form of your object is more in keeping with what was traditionally a sugar caddy (if it belonged to a Gentile family) or an Etrog box (Judaica silver) used for the holiday of Sukkot (if it belonged to a Jewish family). This form was very common in Poland, Germany, Austria, etc., in the 18th and 19th centuries, and early examples would've had a locking mechanism with key. These are popular with collectors, so they continue to be made.

We don´t have any Jewish relatives/family in my background.

Exucse but what does "Gentile" mean? I have tried "googel translate" and just googel but dont get it.
Gebruder Dyhle imported to Sweden is what has benn "established?" (if that is the right word) unless some one is mistaking.

I have loooked fore " Etrog box es" and there are recembelences (?) but I think they are fare more beutiful some of them. Pices of art.

Interesting by the way to learn something new about things I had no knowledge of. I shall read more about Etrog boxes and widen my horizon.

"gentile" = not jewish

The design of the sugar bowl is typical German - that it was also used by jews living somewhere in Europe was a matter of taste and money. It has nothing to do with an Etrog box or Judaica. Most of the Etrog boxes you see in the internet are fakes! Beware!!
Your piece is a nice example of Deyhle´s (mass) production.
