Help with Taxco markings on Ring?

Admittedly I have worn this ring daily for the past 10 years, so I may well have worn down the markings, but I can't find anything remotely similar on any pages or forums. It says Taxco, and something else I can't make out under that (xxteo or xxtea maybe?? starts with an M perhaps?)

and then in another location says something which I used to think was Mexico but now I am not so sure. No eagle mark that I can find, no numbers...

I would love to know 1) roughly the timeframe in which it was made and 2) the artist.
