Born around 1807.
Christening record for St Botolph, Aldersgate register dated 22nd February 1807; parents Peter and Mary.
Indentured as an apprentice on 5th December 1821 to Thomas Mayfield (Grimwade p.382) goldsmith of Staining Lane. His father Peter White is recorded as a carpenter of Aldersgate Street.
Maker’s marks entered at Goldsmiths Hall in 1829 as a goldworker from 4 Bull & Mouth Street which was the previous business address of Samuel Henry Glover (Grimwade p.378). Further maker’s marks were entered as a goldworker from 12 Well Street, Cripplegate in January 1835 and very soon afterwards in March 1835 again from 4 Bull & Mouth Street. 12 Well Street had been the address of Samuel Udall Mayfield (Grimwade p.379) when registering his maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall as a goldworker in 1828.
1841 UK Census for Willington Square as a jeweller.
Died 1850.
England & Wales Deaths Index for St Luke register dated 1st quarter 1850.
London Deaths & Burials Index for St Luke, Finsbury register dated 10th March 1850 shows age at death as 44 years and last address as Old Street.
