Woven and Worn: Textile Arts and Silverwork of the Diné
Until 19th February 2012
This exhibition examines the history and aesthetics of the two best known arts of the Diné (Navajo)--textiles and silverwork. Featuring nearly 100 works from the MIA's Viriginia Doneghy Southwest Jewelry Collection and 10 Diné textiles borrowed from private collections, this exhibition provides context for the works, exploring the artists' worldview and both Native and non-Native markets.
