Danish or Norwegian?

Postby keswick » Sun Nov 06, 2011 4:14 pm

Hi
Could someone help me identify this silver mark?

It seems to be a capital H inside a triangle next to the word Sterling!

Any help would be grateful!

Thanks

Well, this is a bit late to reply, but I did not see this until now. The H in a triangle is the mark for the F.A. Hermann company of Attleboro, Massachusetts. They produced quite a lot of small enamel jewelry, typically with hand-painted floral accents.

Frederick A Hermann also manufactured souvenir spoons in the first decade of the twentieth century in Melrose, Massachusetts. Prior to that and also in the first decade, he is listed as an artist in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The only listing I find for him in business directories as a jewelry manufacturer is in Melrose, but that of course does not exclude Attleboro.
