Colonial Fiddle Style, Scottish Marks??

Post by sws515 »

I'm spending way too much time in researching this piece with no luck, need help. This fiddle style fork seems to be colonial however the hallmarks only match Scottish Date marks. It measures 6 3/4" long with an upturned lip with the following marks
All of these are in old English style B - EA - S unidentified - A I cannot make out the mark next to the S. If anyone can help thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Are you sure this fork is silver? The marks, to me, resemble British plater's marks.

A higher resolution image of the marks, may help to solve this puzzle.
