Please help with ID/info on henry atkins silver fish server

Postby gristmill » Mon Jan 30, 2006 7:51 pm

Hi. I'm new here so pls bear with me. TYIA, I have a fish server. I think, I've ID'das Henry Atkins, 1913, with French Ivory(I thin) handle. I can't really get a goo pic of the marks but please tell me if these assumptions are true. It had a .925, 1913 Henry Atkins silver mark on the decortative part, what I'll call hasp, & a silverplate mark on the blade. I think the handle is Fr /Ivory. Can anyone confirm these assumptions? Thanks again, Karen

Blade is certainly Atkin Bros plate. Cant see the mark on the knife "collar" to confirm your dating, but as long as you have used the right Assay Office and date table (generally Sheffield) you should be on the money. Hard to tell if it is Ivory - usually requires one to hold it.
